Christ Candle - The Eternal Flame - Dedicated to Betty Leversedge
The UMW dedicates this Eternal Flame in loving memory of our friend and faithful servant Betty Leversedge. The mission of the United Methodist Women is to join together as the hands and feet of Christ to make a difference in the world by helping others. To put Faith, Hope and Love into action. Betty was really, really good at doing this. She was an organizer, meticulous in how things needed to be done. She was welcoming, kind, a prayer warrior and woman of faith. I found this saying, the author is unknown, but I think it could have easily been written about our Betty. It says this: As some people journey through life, they leave footprints wherever they go. Footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy and faith. Even when they’re gone, we can still look back and clearly see the trail they left behind; a trail bright with hope that invites us to follow. When we light this candle, we will remember Betty. We will remember her love of family and her love of friends. We will remember her love of the Lord and her mission to spread that love wherever she went. What a perfect dedication for a woman who let her light shine so brightly for the Lord! May God bless Betty and her memory among us. By Lay Leader and UMW member Sue Skramstad 05/09/2021
